IMO, the reason people aren't buying cars right now, is because the Obama Government has scared the purchasing public to death. Tax the rich....who's next? Tax any thing that walks, crawls, or looks like they're breathing? You betcha'....Team Obama hasn't seen a tax they didn't like. People would buy cars....maybe even soon. But between the housing mess, the fianancial bailouts, the Stimulus, the Omnibus Fiasco, proposed more bailouts, AND THEN the new 2010 budget Obama wants passed....at at least 3.6 TRILLION. To say nothing of messing around with the Medical System we currently have when so far, the Government is showing us just what a mess they can make of things. Can ANYONE see Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Pelosi, Reid, Durbin, and the cast of hundreds of others with anything like an original idea as far as planning a new system for anything> THE AMERICAN TAXPAYING PUBLIC NEEDS A BAILOUT TOO. ANYONE who is paying Federal Income Taxes needs a moritorium on ALL taxes for the next two years. PLUS so far, Obama has only mentioned "Wind and Solar" as his pet projects. The Dems have said NO to more off American shore drilling, and to ANWAR. And have poo-pooed tar sands. Dems don't even mention Nuclear energy....And have done ZERO on Liquified Natural Gas. Has anyone seen a car run efficiently on Wind OR Solar? This man mentioned below in the article is just totally wrong. People will buy cars, when they have a bit of faith gathered up again in the American Government."When gas prices came down, the priority of buying a hybrid fell off quite quickly," said Wes Brown, a partner at Los Angeles-based market research firm Iceology. "Yet even as consumer interest declined, the manufacturers have continued to pump them out."
