Carl,
Yes I have Peters article and it was rare good news these days for gold investors. I like BMG, I did not do well timing them earlier this year and am looking forward to getting a bit of BMG at a good price, although its price has held pretty well last few months and that's a good sign. I am also speculating a bit with BCMD and was pleased at how this "news" gold stock held through the golden bloodbath on Friday. There is a thread here at SI for it.
The deflation scenario is one I have been reading about a lot on the gold threads and it is definitely a scary one. You will likely be glad of those gold coins if that hits, but I don't think the Fed will stand for deflation either. Ink is too cheap a solution and there are too many debtors in this country for it to be politically feasible to allow a deflation. Alan will want to retire with his head.

Best of luck buying low, especially a great company like HL at a bargain price,
