You don't think that folks give those really big political donations out of the goodness of their hearts, or their desire for 'good governance' do you? <g> They want the 'best government MONEY CAN BUY'... they want Special Tax Preference Items put in the tax codes, carving out loopholes to benefit their business interests... they want tariffs and non-tariff barriers to disadvantage their competitors... and they want PORK, they want corporate welfare that specifically benefits them. They want 'Capitalism for the poor, and Socialist wealth transfers that benefit them', as the saying goes. It's an old, old story... nothing new at all.
