re:>>>The outrage over this is huge and people are expecting a bad year or two anyway. I suspect we are back to the 50% say no and 50% say hell no situation on more bailouts<<

And the public outrage is what brought this to a head.. It wasn't the centrist, "go along to get along" crowd that did it.. They have contributed nothing and would have allowed the looting to keep going on.. Although we might not have stopped it(looting), we might have slowed it down a bit.. I only hope so..

" 'only' $165 million...no big deal in the $180 billion "

Then why IRS is collecting our tax. It's so little in
comparsion.

I'm even more outraged by the Merrill Lynch bonuses that are receiving no attention in Washington -- we're talking about BILLIONS that were paid out at the end of last year as the company was basically insolvent...Merrill (and Bank of America) could NOT have paid out those reckless bonuses without tens of billions in TARP money -- that's taxpayer money. Is Congress going to go after Thain and all the Merrill Execs that made over a million in a 2008 bonus as they drove their company into the ground...??
