The dollar has now leapt from the cliff -- head arched back, arms extended like fleshy remnants of wings that offer no hope of flight, and a body slowly angling in the direction that gravity pulls it inexorably to its final resting place. There is no turning back -- there is only the silent electronic hum of trillions of "dollars" fabricated as symbols of economic emptiness -- meaningless computer entries that are used as our way of saying that we are committed to "stimulate" our economy and "invest" in our future -- no matter what the consequences.
