The GOP actually did ram a bunch of their tax cuts through in record time.

The fast action by the Dems was what everyone was calling for at the time. Just as the GOP rammed through the war on Iraq, and we felt at the time that we were all sitting on a ticking time bomb, the urgency to act on the economy forced fast action by the Dems on the recovery package.

Now, though, it's time to slow down. The initial package was passed and for better or for worse, we've done what we could. It's time to make sure future legislation is transparent and has time for plenty of debate. To fix this mess for the long term, they are going to need to craft some masterpieces of legislation. It's going to take the brightest minds this country has to offer to rebuild our financial foundations. And then we're going to need a STRONG GOP to force Congress and OBama back to fiscal conservatism once the recovery is well underway.

That is one major reason why I want a strong, rational GOP that goes back to its conservative principles. They should start by firing all the Bush GOP members. They have already proved themselves unworthy of the GOP brand. Maybe they should go find some Bush Sr, Gingrich, Clinton era Republicans. Those were true fiscal conservatives.
