Clark, thanks for the thanks. I think we're all indebted to you for your longstanding watch on the derivatives issue. As to your question:

Already, we've seen the first calls for repudiation. I'm on my way out, so I can't pull up the link, but the call was based on a presumption of "fraudulence".

IMO only, I certainly believe there will be more calls for repudiation, and a public "weighing" of the consequences of same. The first consequence would be destruction of the existing financial order - but on the other side of the equation, entities like South County Hospital would find themselves freed from the life-sapping consequences of a 30-year agreement. It would be a fresh start.

There would be short-term and massive disruption - but quite possibly abrogation is the most sensible alternative.

These are reactions, as opposed to a thought-out response. Repudiation is an intriguing idea, which I hope we can explore later in more depth.
