one has to pick ones fights but neither party can fight populist wave based on just principal alone. Folks are angry for good reason. Repubs who stand on principle here will be further vilified as they were when they appeared as obstructionist on stimulus. Dems are winning this battle big time, while this threads cons, con only themselves. Having said this, i am in principle against retroactive stuff but i fully understand the anger out there. By the way, please note that some of our cons are the same guys who blast the unions for not giving up stuff previously won. I wonder if they would have a problem with a law against auto workers for the amount of money paid to them above whats paid to non union auto workers?
