Both of us at this house agree with you! In fact, my husband wrote out by hand, so I could type this note to you and the others here...(I keep telling him he either should have his own blog, or post here...but so far, he hasn't)

We're both incensed with the Congress for allowing the bonus info to fall through the cracks of the unread Simulus bill, THEN try to lie about it, then to point fingers in all directions...and THEN, pass that STUPID bill this afternoon.

Here's his comments:

The behavior of several of the big, congressional “inquisitors” in the AIG hearings is outrageous!

In addition to Barney Frank, here we have another Congressman who acts like a petulant spoiled brat going to the great length to point out that he is an attorney (i.e. officer of the court) and then attacking and pillorying Mr. Liddy. He demands that Mr. Liddy, a highly regarded insurance executive who has come out of retirement at the Government’s request to help sort out the AIG disaster at the princely sum of $1/year, unilaterally abrogate his company’s legally binding employment obligations.

To wit, the Congressman demanded Mr. Liddy break the law, violate his fiduciary responsibilities to the company, the employees, and the shareholders. All this with no sense of
propriety , morality, or push back by an individual that did not even read the applicable legislation he voted on or recall his responsibility to his oath of office to “protect and defend the Constitution.”

Unfortunately, his ilk are becoming all too common ~~~ POSITIEVELY SHAMEFUL!!

God help us all!!

PS. Where are the media?

Meanwhile, Congress is engaged in a (1) torrent of activity to pass legislation to “claw back” the bonus payments, and unconstitutional ex post facto endeavor and (2) in an attempt to pass legislation targeted specifically at the bonused employees and aimed at taxing most, if not all, of their legally earned bonus compensation. In effect, this is an unconstitutional Bill of Attainder.

It would appear that many in Congress do not only read the bills they vote on, but also do not (or have not) read the Constitution despite their oath to preserve and protect it.
