NC State unemployment reported to be 10.3% this morning.
That is a one year double.

On the same page (A7), the News and Record newspaper also reported,

"Michelle Obama will be digging up a patch of the South Lawn today to plant a vegetable garden. The first at the White House since Eleanor Roosevelt's victory garden in World War II. ..."

No joke!

Krauthammer seems to have bought in to the theory that an AIG bankruptcy filing would destroy the underpinnings of the world financial system. I'm still looking for evidence that supports that theory, beyond the repeated assertions of politicians and Wall Streeters who are benefiting from the treasury's largess.
