I have followed every move Franklin has made for 30 months now and find it amusing when new talent shows up on the board informing me of what I own. Don't get me wrong, I find both Atin's and Kenneth's posts enlightening and refreshing and welcome a comparative technical perspective of the VOIP markets. In having a more rounded and all encompasing perspective as to Franklin as "a whole", I concur with Debra and Martin, Franklin has a lot more to offer than just a I-T gateway. What some of the new people have done in my opinion, is focus on just the DVG, and not look at the total picture. For example, Atin has remarked how the DVG doesn't have PBX capabilities. True. But one has to look no further than the D-Mark FXO product to find such capabilities. To go one step further, Franklin allows existing PBX's full digital features even if the presently installed PBX is somewhat outdated, giving them a broader market, and a price/performance edge over the competition. In other words, Franklin can go after the mass market, including the small and medium size corporations, which far outnumber the large/deep pockets that the competition is focused on. It all goes back to the phrase "Who cares who wins the Commo Wars, bet on the fellow that supplies the bullets." RB BTW, a few other companies that fit this theme: VOXW supplying compression Codecs that have been licensed by Lucent, MSFT, and other big hitters in the industry.
