Randy- This market has moved up from 4000 to 8000 in two years- from inception of this thread Feb 97 we have moved up 2000 points on Dow and 350 S&Pand nearly 200 points on SOX- - these guys have been short or expecting the big one during all this time when people were making money- now a 40 points off the all time highs and SOX 80 point move down is great victory of the bears- it is the bulls who are running the biggest short positions not the bears, and when this market will turn you will see all these theories will fade into dust bin of history- run your shorts until ECI on 28th and if you have a clear signal cut it out and let the market takes its course- Tue and Wed will decide 980 or 925, position yourselve for 925 by buying Nov 940's and selling Dec870 1/2- you have a perfect cover- 500,000$ each contract- it does not take a rocket scientest to be a short- it is the long which matters.

Hi randy, Re: "Is there a place where farmers discuss commodities? If not there should be."

We should start a thread. I now live in Minneapolis and can not find a broker with a firm who knows what he/she is doing to trade North Dakota commodities. Believe it or not!! The big grain companies here in Minneapolis have there own internal brokers. We have to use brokers from Fargo and Grand Forks. Also, there is "big" risk in this game and one needs an inside track on what is going on to be successful. The last thing I need is for tons of wheat to be dumped in my front yard.:-) My nephew runs the farm and sells the grains through these North Dakota brokers. We also raise some Navy Beans.

Joan
