What evidence do you have that that's true? Do you know someone in the org.?

No, but as I said in a previous post, you don't trust the foxes to guard the henhouse. These are people who believe in easy money coming from a financial system that's fundementally flawed. We need people who subscribe to a more sustainable vision of the American financial system. The fact that they would demand major bonuses despite the firm's performance and then sue the government should be indication enough that they haven't learned a thing.

You're coming to some conclusions that I am not sure are valid. First, in a capitalist society, making money is the prime objective. The two seem to go part and parcel. To suggest there are people in the private sector who would make that a secondary or tertiary goal is a bit naive IMO.

Secondly, the vast majority of the people at AIG were simply doing their jobs. I am sure some questioned the quality of the financial instruments they were creating but I suspect most did not know and had no clue they were unleashing a nightmare on an unsuspecting world. And while I don't particularly like that they were to get bonuses.....it was a contractual obligation made to these employees prior to the bailouts. They needed to be honored. Having said that, its good to see that some of them are returning all or part of their bonuses.

BTW I once worked for a company where the principals were less than honest. At one point, they tried to get me to do something that I thought was unethical. I refused but I also happened to have $50K in the bank. My point is that its hard to buck the system when you have nothing backing you up and you have people depending on you for their survival. Its that whole walking is someone else's shoes thing.
