Cymer sees 40 pct sales growth in 1998

NEW YORK, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Cymer Inc, a maker of lasers used in the semiconductor industry, expects sales to grow 40 percent in 1998, the
New York Times reported Sunday.

The company said it has not yet experienced slowdowns in orders, but that it has caught up with demand, so growth would slow somewhat,
according to the newspaper.

Cymer saw its stock slump this summer amid rumors its lasers were not working well, but spokesmen for semiconductor companies said the
company's products are performing fine, according to the newspaper.

The company's stock closed at 28-1/16 Friday, up 1-21/32.
