While both you and Rambi are exchanging your views, this topic is of interest to me also. Yes indeed we have had great women leaders including Hillary who, in my opinion exceeded the performance of her husband, by being very meticulous and diligent in whatever she did as first lady (health care in 1993) and as Senator. Then we have Mrs. Bhutto who had to be shamelessly assassinated to stop her from gaining the political ascendancy in her country. The same with Mrs. Indira Gandhi etc.

But let us not forget about our dear "Joe", the Amtrackman, who became visibly emotional during the VP debate when it came to his single parenting after the tragic death of his first wife. I think we all need to take pride in coming of age where not only we have elected a President of color for the first time but have also managed to blur the lines of distinction based on gender.

I have always perferred women to men in every way

Awww, I kind of like men.

The Church did everything it could to suppress any form of the Goddess. They wanted no competition for their savior. :)
They set us back a lot.

But of course, the great philosophers didn't think much of us as competent human beings, either, from Aristotle to Hegel to Rousseau, we are excluded. Isn't self-actualization one of your favorite themes? Hegel thought women were incapable of it.

Still, as a social worker, I worked in an all-female office, and it was pretty awful at times. Very catty and sneaky. Women can be very nasty, even if they aren't as overtly aggressive. WHen I was a probation officer, I worked with all men, and it was much more honest.

Still, I think it's reached a point of being more about the individual than the sex, though we women still have progress to be made.
