(Pay back the taxpayer's money and then they can continue with any kind of compensation scheme that they want to!)

And... as far as company stock in the compensation plan... nothing else aligns the employee's interests with the company's success nearly as well.... :-)


I doubt they will attract quality executives without a good bonus plan. Unless they simply pay a large salary, good performance or now, and fire the ones who don't do well. That could work but has its own problems. With a congress that has no business sense at all butting in and inciting riots I don't think AIG will ever pay back the tax, except perhaps when the government sells the remainder of assets after the company goes under.
