I disagree with that in that we are never given a real choice.

"You want to know who's responsible? Look in a mirror." Many of us didn't participate in the madness. If you really want to know who is responsible for this mess, look at Congress (Who repealed Glass Steagal), the leadership of both parties (who are corrupt beyond hope), and the people who have said one party was better than the other (facilitated the madness). Bush, Cheney, and Paulson are Republicans. Dodd and Frank are Democrats. Both parties are corrupt at the highest levels.
