What consequences? Congress has done nothing but wax indignant about the mess THEY created. The SEC has done next to nothing. The Justice Department has done next to nothing. Even the IRS appears to be doing nothing. This government is a joke.

Citigroup is still here. AIG is still here. MBIA is still here (under a different name). Standard and Poors and Moody's are still here. Bank of America is still here, and Ken Lewis is still in charge. Goldman Sachs, BAC, and JP Morgan have been rewarded at the taxpayer's expense. Executives still have their jobs, and many are still getting huge bonuses as the government breathes taxpayer dollars into the near lifeless corpses they created.

There are NO consequences for being a fraudster in this country. Even Madoff got to stay in his penthouse until his trial. The only people being punished are the people who DIDN'T commit fraud. They will pay for this mess.

The moral of the story is that ethics and morals are for fools.
