The TARP failed to achieve its desired objectives. The banks are not very co-operative. Buying up of toxic assets will not help either I think. Obama has done everything that has caused some Republicans to brand him a communist. I wonder why does he not goy all the way and take over the banks and get money flowing again before he decides to bail them out again by buying their toxic assets.

The Obama administration's latest plan to help banks get credit flowing again is drawing a tepid reaction from investors and academics, who say the proposal comes with too many strings attached and is unlikely to stimulate lending industrywide.
