But with a trade deficit of 5% of GDP and foreigners investing 5% of GDP in US per year, eventually they will own us. Except that the dollars decline in value at least 2% a year. Plus, they are getting burnt right now buying RE and mortgages. So, back to T-bills. As bad as we are, we are the world's haven. We print this green stuff and give it to them in exchange for wonderful products. My vacuum gave up the ghost recently, and my choices at Wal Mart next week are between three full size well made Bissell's, priced from $48 to $53. The top one is bagless. I looked at the machines and the prices, and just shook my head.
