Ted, I think Galbraith is a very intelligent guy who unfortunately skews a lot of contrary facts his way. His dismissal of the impact massive federal debt has on America seems way too convenient a position to take, not to mention his belief that central planners can "get it right."

He also believes in mobilizing the resources of America in a "war against climate change," which is the surest sign that this guy is drinking the Kool Aid. Really, climate change threatens the survival of civilization?

By the way, I agree that we should rework our entire dependence on oil. But good luck trying to get Americans to make the painful transitions, especially in the absence of a real war. And good luck trying to find any intelligence in a bunch of bureaucrats who are more qualified to get themselves re-elected than coming up with real intelligent solutions to this mess.
