Ted, > the Democratic Party remains a coalition of a vast and diverse assemblage of interest groups (minorities, labor unions, academics, trial lawyers, etc.) rather than an ideological enterprise.

Make no mistake, the Democrats are also about ideology, namely the ideology that government will fix everything.

Hence the belief in the Obama personality cult.

"The GOP's burgeoning civil war"

We should pay a little attention. If the free market rich guys win, the (R)'s may have something to contribute in the future. If the bible-thumping values crowd wins, the (R)'s devlolve into a party of southern rednecks, wailing Jezuz people and dittoheads.

This is the end result of Reagan signing those idiots into his coalition. Now, they OWN the party.

Isn't it great that in a time of financial crisis, the Obama administration is preoccupied with launching media attacks on a private citizen. They really have their priorities in order. This is so much more important than staffing the Treasury department.
