Richard: Just to carry your thinking a little bit further, (and thinking about the way Maxam calculates its recovery costs), it may happen some day that the only gold that is mined is as a byproduct of mining for other metals. Which would give the dirts a big advantage.

Personally, I have some pretty strong doubts about this scenario, but the dirts would appear to be winners under either a high or low gold price scenario.
