Due to gross mismanagement i.e.their hedge funds, the company imploded losing its assets including funds to pay the bonuses, which were AIG's responsibility. NOT MINE. Not my family, not my friends and yet these greedy incompetent bloodsuckers took that money anyway... Across the country, AMericans are taking pay cuts, foregoing profit sharing and employer contributions to their 401ks. So these AIG jerks who obviously did everything wrong simply add to our burden by diverting millions in tax dollars to their greedy selves. Legislation was in place to prevent that from happening, which apparently Dodd threw out at the last second before the vote.
