>> Your assuming Bush "had" to conduct the multi-trillion $ (all costs in) Iraqi war - that's a view not held by all.

No, and neither is it a view held by all that our country needs socialized medicine or the government pouring money into "green" energey or any of the 9,000 earmarks in the budget bill.

And some of us haven't forgotten we were attacked on 9/11 and believe that winning the war in Iraq is a positive first step in reducing the threat of another attack. GWB was, if nothing else, successful at preventing further attacks, so, it is difficult to argue with that success.

The multi-trillion $ tax cut was credited for every bit of good economic news for years until the economy fell off a cliff so what great good they did - in hindsight - is questionable too.

Of course. Empirically, we know the result of those tax cuts. The first inclinations most Americans had on 9/12/2001 were --

a) We are at war; there is no way we get through the next few years without further attacks; and

b) The economic consequences of this attack are huge and threaten our entire financial system.

Just about every thinking person in this nation had, or should have had, these thoughts. Whatever else happened, our economy survived these attacks. Furthermore, it survived increased spending on two simultaneous wars, beefing up every aspect of our homeland security, then the disaster of Katrina. Growing the entire time.

Obama is just trying like hell to bail out all these wonderful capitalists who ran everything into the ground.

The only problem is that it is also a matter of opinion as to who actually caused the current crisis. 42% of us believe that policies created by the Left requiring making loans to unqualified borrowers is the cause of it. Another 42% believe the wonderful capitalists caused it. And the remainder, they can't make up their minds.

To me, it is a rather obvious result of political contributions primarily to liberals like Dodd, Frank and Obama. I'm sure you have your alleged scoundrels to blame it on.

I'll say this much. People had better be really careful about embracing socialism, because there is only one way out of it (a broke country). Because of the New Deal and Great Society programs our country is more than $50 Trillion in debt, not even counting what most of us know as the "National Debt". That's $160,000 for every man, woman and child in the country -- if you have a wife and two kids, your share is $640,000.

The incentive for socialism is for the taxpayers to like it because they believe they're getting something for nothing. They're not. They are giving up the future of their kids. All this free crap Obama is giving us -- "rights" like health care and green energy -- all that is coming out of our descendants' pockets.

He isn't telling you guys that. No matter how you feel about the Right, it is utterly self-destructive to support the left-wing socialist policy that Obama is shoving down our throats. Most Americans think he's going to give them mortgage and gas money out of thin air. It doesn't work that way -- this crap costs money.
