Sam,

RE: "If you had a five to ten year horizon and were going to invest in five stocks (semi's & equip) what would they be and why? I don't care about short term flucuations. Who are the best positioned regardless of market cap?"

The keys are "five to ten year horizon" and "I don't care about short term flucuations."

I don't have a "5 to 10 year horizon" and I "care about short term fluctuations." I also am a "value" investor. I invest for my "peace of mind" which may not be the most objective or rational method.

INTC sells for a reasonable PE on unreasonable net profit margins. Over a 10 year period, one 25-50% negative adjustment in net profit margins is acceptable.

I don't believe I will be able to buy LLTC, MXIM, ALTR, and XNLX at "value" prices. The summer of 96 was buying opportunity and I will be more aggressive if that level of valuation is approached in a market or sector selloff.

Cary

Sam, care to take a swipe at the "five to ten year" question? Appreciate any input. Thank you.
