I don't think most people who understand the process would anticipate a Single Government Payer system being a good thing. I agree that single-payer is faith based--chock full of ideology where the brains should be. It doesn't hold up to scrutiny. But digging in the heels doesn't cut it, either. There are real problems with the current system. If the heel diggers were more thoughtful about making changes, maybe the door wouldn't have opened to the wave of true believers.
