Steven Dubner spoke to a group that I am on the board of last night. It was a great success and I think made a lot of money for the library that it benefits. I guess I better read his book now. I think he may have made a few people angry by mentioning a study that showed that the effect of using a pimp has about the same effect on a prostitute's income as using a real estate agent does for someone selling a house. He also had a story about a laboratory experiment with monkeys training them to use money (steel washers) to buy food and treats. After they got the idea, one of them was seen paying another one for sex.
