Geithner has a tin ear.

Listening to him briefly yesterday when he testified before the House Banking Committee convinced me that his sense of diplomacy is non-existent but his nose for a good gaffe is first class.

He was beyond evasive.

What kind of Treasury Secretary admits that he has not read important public announcements made by the head of a major foreign bank, one that holds lots of our dollars?

And that grating manner of speaking...he needs speech therapy.

Subtantively, I know all this means nothing, but take a look at what his latest gaffe has done to the markets.

"Geithner said he did not see any immediate change in the
dollar's position."

At least not since the last time he glanced at the minute chart!
