But Snow, your reasoning leads directly to Big Brother and mindless minions aka USSR where nobody needs a mind of their own because the government does all the thinking for them and it's illegal for them to do anything themselves of their own volition and compulsory for them to do everything else which Big Brother requires them to do. It has seemed a good idea to people to have Big Brother rule the proletariat since before Karl Marx but the real-time 3D experiments in running things like that have resulted in megadeath and megapoverty. < Of course people are mindless zombies! That's why the financial leaders, including the Fed chief, need to do a better job!!! > Having a government department getting paid to approve each mortgage is going to add a lot of cost and delay to getting houses transacted to no good effect. It will no doubt make things even worse. But then people will slip sideways and arrange big loans on cars or future earnings so any loans at all will have to be government approved. If you want to buy a packet of chewing gum on your credit card you'll have to put an application in to the Kremlin a month in advance, with fees attached to cover the cost of approving the loan, and also put a request in to the Ministry of Health to ensure the chewing gum components are compatible with your genetic and medical condition. So you'll have to get a medical examination first to ensure the Ministry can safely issue a chewing gum purchase authority. For environmental protection reasons, you'll have to also get a certificate to ensure you are properly authorized to handle used chewing gum disposal procedures. That will require an environment court hearing. We can't be too safe you know. Snow, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Good and hard!
