I agree as well; we all know people like good teachers, superb auto mechanics and the like who are woefully underpaid while these AIG people and a lot of execs in many, many industries have patted each other on the back for years with one compensation committee raising exec salaries and bonuses and then the next pay committee at some other company using that first increase to increase their exec salaries and bonuses still further. --We must remain competitive is their BS mantra---

Sort of like in house unions for the bosses with no control by the shareholders or the govt. It stinks and i am glad the public is becoming aware of the screwing they are getting from management. Remember top exec salaries now exceed the rank and file average pay by as much as 40,000% or more; ridiculous.

Agree; it is like a lottery. I worked in a brokerage, a bank , an insurance company, was a Naval officer and worked for the Dept of State. The best paid were in the brokerage and the smartest were in State. (the least smart were at the insurance co,)

Since pay levels are not inherently fair then i believe the top earners can share with a bit more with the country which made them top earners.
