All certificates will be called for by the company and new certificates issed to the shareholders. All short positions have to be covered. Now once announced 30 prior to the action then the price will spike as short positions are covered.

Shorting is a funny trading tactic. Shareholders can not really catch a short there is way to many greed levels and various opinions. However as seen in AIPN & HRNT buying power can, however a company can also nail a short with various measures that really do not need share holders either. ANother way is transfer your shares on a partial DTC to another discount broker and the short position has three days to cover.
.
This particular topic has so many various and opinions it is worse than talking about religion. MMs are not ignorant and they read these boards and know what they are up against. The new thing on the internet is calling for a share count. WE HAVE A SHORT!!!

There is always shorting by MM to be the market liquid. But 90% of the time the ones that claim to have caught a short have not. They scream we have this and take but want more buyers. Only EUTO to my knowledge could care less if people buy in or not. Where every other stock is touting get in on the action.

Be very careful with shorting and the cheerleading of it. If I had know back in July that EUTO would be retiring 33.5M shares I would own Millions I grant you.

Anyway like I said it is a contraversal subject and my opinions will fly. However the best way is buying power. Then they have to cover.
another small tid bit if you sell your position and it has a short against it it has to be covered.

Thanks.

Question from a novice -- How does changing the CUSIP effect anything?

Beverley

Good question;

When a compnay changes symbols or exchanges (and therefore CUSIP) a full accounting of the stock has to take place. The TA has to issue new certs for all out and the DTC has to balance the books.

This forces a short to cover.
