What techniques did Galileo pull together en.wikipedia.org Galileo is perhaps the first to clearly state that the laws of nature are mathematical. In The Assayer he wrote "Philosophy is written in this grand book, the universe ... It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures; ...". Of course he didn't just state it, he ran and published experiements to establish the mathmatic relationships. This was maybe best demonstrated in his experiements to prove that objects fall at the same accelerating rate regardless of their weight. These experiments inspired Newton to use mathmatics to explain WHY things fall at the same rate. TP
