Yes we are overdue for the "big one". Actually here in the Puget Sound area many places were thrust up in the last "big one", some as much as 50 feet. But 100 miles west of here on the coast some places went down 30 feet or more. The fault zone is approximately 200 miles west of here out in the Pacific.

Some of my next door neighbors are climate researchers at the University of Washington and they have been documenting the melting over the years. So far the Arctic has had net melting the last 30 + years according to their measurements and observations. Time will tell....
