The One has to have had the shortest honeymoon of any president ever. Of course no new president has ever appeared so totally inept as this guy either.

Does that guy (Peters) elevator not go all the way to the top?

Every single example he cited shows (at worst) no decline, and (at best) arguably an improvement in American strategic position:

China - "A staged military confrontation...."

(Isn't that *exactly* what they tried with Bush the very second he was elected, also? Isn't that a predictably Chinese tactic that they pull out for EVERY new President? <GGG>)

Pakistan: "With viral corruption throughout and Islamist fanatics sweeping half of its territory..."

(Pakistan supported Taleban and other Islamic insurgents and elements of their Intelligence Service the ISI facilitated attacks against Americans and our allies for all of the past eight years... while even directly supporting some of the 9-11 attackers. Meanwhile Bush bought what they were selling and sent billions to the military Dictator. Mostly all for nothing because they used the aid to arm against India. At least now we are striking into terrorist havens that were previously off-limits to our military... and perhaps 1/3 of Taleban and al Qaeda leadership have been killed off... and the military Dictatorship is now gone. Plenty of troubles still... but arguably the first steps have now been taken on a path to a strategic win, after many long years of failure.)

Afghanistan: "Obama's Vietnam."

(If it is a 'new Vietnam' then it is a Vietnam that Bush IGNORED and left slowly twisting in the wind... a place (with Pakistan) for the Taleban to regain their strength.

Iran: "Obama tried to reach out, to talk"

Early innings yet. Far too soon to tell if anything has or yet will change. (But there should be little argument that --- for generations now --- Iran/US relations have been the 'pits' - adversarial in the extreme. For the moment, nothing has gotten worse. That is about all that can be said....)
