The median number of days it took to sell a single-family home in California was 51.5 last month, down from 69.3 a year ago, the association said. The number of months needed to deplete the supply of homes on the market at the current sales pace dropped to 6.5 months from 15.3 months a year ago.

The above numbers indicate that CA's housing market is pretty much back to normal. Going forward, the interesting thing to watch will be whether CA takes out its median highs of 2007 ever again. I once thought it was inevitable but given the deteriorating quality of life in the state, that may be no longer true. The sun and surf may no longer be able to overcome the growing negatives.
