Even though this is considered "semi-arid" country, a mold problem will occasionally pop up. A friend just paid $5k to get rid of it in his crawl space below the house. His wife and two daughters were on the verge of illness all the time. She saw something in the paper about mold and called for an inspection. Sure enough, that was the problem. We had it in our church school building a few years ago. It can be expensive to deal with. My friend had to put fans in the crawl space to prevent a recurrence.
