Christine, christian missionaries had no interest in saving the souls of "savages". Their primary reason for converting the savages to christianity was so that the savages would willingly give their gold and silver to the church in order to buy a nice house in heaven. Hopefully, on the same street as Jesus or the blessed virgin. The cheap savages were told that they would be condemned to living in a flop house in the inner city for all eternity unless they gave more gold to buy a ranch style house in the suburbs where god lives.

The missionaries saved the lives of millions of savages. If they had failed to get their gold, the soldiers would have killed them and taken it.

I don't seem to get back on Sun. evenings for some reason and yet do not want to let this lay for the next five days.

I really had no idea what paganism was, nor is it my intention to tear it apart and find some disfavor with it thereby casting some sort of negative feeling on it and therefore you. I just wanted to say for the record, if it is even actually important, where I stand on the issue of religious indoctrination. I probably got a little carried away in my zeal to some how let others know where I stand on this particular subject (like that has never happened :) ) In no way was I trying to draw you into some kind of discussion as to who was the more righteous. I value your opinion, Christine.

I would like to give my 'for what its worth' on one of the things you put forth and I've read this from others as well. I don't think that all so called Christians will be going to nirvana. Many, like me, will be on the 'going down' elevator. As far as history goes, I don't believe that it was with the Will of God that many of the explorers achieved their accomplishment and subsequent human tragedies which came because of them. It is a basic commandment from Christ to go out into the world and tell it about the salvation of God. So it is under this particular guise that many attrocities have been done in God's name. These were people who were doing what they THOUGHT was their commission when in fact it was their own glorification they were seeking and this still occurs today.

I will address other aspects next weekend if it is still realevent, imo, of course. Otherwise, I hope it is a great week for you and all the rest. See ya next weekend I hope.

<<Trick or Treat, MSB>> Wouldn't turning a trick be a treat?! <VBG>

See ya
