Actually, Ten I think you are the one who is confused. For example, deficits eventually become real numbers, not just projections. By running the war expenses outside the budget, Bush was able to make his deficits look less than what they ended up being. It was a not so clever sleight of hand. However, the Dems were powerless to stop it because they did not control Congress.

The war cost was about 600B. An absolute bargain.


Your verb tense is incorrect. Iraq war cost IS over $600 billion and IS climbing. Will be well over $700 billion by next year and still climbing.
