Mike:

Why did you not include AOL and MSFT to your list. It seems that msft is due and with them committed to no longer buying their own stock as they feel it is overpriced , and the latest justice dept rumblings, I think a fall to the 90-110 level would be in order.

AOL kind of speaks for itself. With more and more people just interested in moving to the internet, what are they going to be able to offer over any other provider. My analogy is that the advertisers will eventually treat the sites as "television programs" and the revenues from advertising will go the site providers. i.e silicon investor, forbes etc. not the internet service providers.

From what I can tell, most people value their online service from the links they provide not the isp themselves.

Jack Geraghty of CS First Boston was on CNBC Friday. He pointed out that normally, chip companmies spend 20-22% of revenues for capital equipment, but that number has gone up to 29% in the last 2 years. He characterized 16M DRAM pricing at 4.10 as "just plain awful". He also said that 12% of industry spending comes from Intel. Overall, he sounded pretty intelligent, and is a name worth remembering.
