SoT, your prospecting information is bung.

Oil reserves are up. <The world reserves of carbon energy are much smaller than in the 1980's. > Have a look. Check the actual data. bp.com

Tars, coal, shale are more or less untapped. There are hundreds of years supply available of carbon.

Of course there is actually less still in the ground than there was quarter of a century ago, but reserves means actual recoverable resources which have resulted from prospecting.

We are NOT going to be running out any time soon.
