It is a problem when a government starts handing out money to those who are staying home watching Oprah. Human nature intervenes and dictates that those people will prefer to stay home watching Oprah over getting a job. Frankly that's not human nature. Maybe a small subset, but nothing near a majority. You are very cynical about your fellow US citizens. As I showed earlier, a person can easily make more by watching Oprah than by taking a job that is beneath his skill level, e.g., at McDonalds. The incentive is not to work. The problem is easily solved. Absolutely easily solved. Raise the minimum wage.
