Interesting article, but it mischaracterizes Krugman. Krugman constantly qualifies his ideas with "maybe" and "I think" and "perhaps".

In fact Krugman is one of the few economists who seem aware of human fallibility.

The biggest problem for the human species, IMO, besides ignorance are our blind spots. And we all have them and they too often are the source of most of our problems.

In decision theory classes they often use a game called "man on the moon" which shows that groups usually make beter decisions than individuals.

As well, in the scientific community, they know that the more contentious the debate, the more vigorous the solution.
