A local congregation chases these kind of phony phenomena. Friends of mine live across the street from the building where they meet. One night some years ago, the husband went over to the meeting. During it, some gold glitter began to drift down. Tragically, the sheeple became ecstatic. After the meeting, the neighbor swept some up and took it back home. His wife and he weren't surprised to discover it was cheap craft glitter. What was surprising to them was the hoax was never openly exposed by the leaders of the meeting.
