Saying What Needs To Be Said

I commend Daniel Hannan who had the courage to blast Prime Minister Gordon Brown on his handing of the economic crisis. The Mail Online picks up the story in the Tory who told Brown to his face that he's a disaster. ...

"Remember his saying: "government is not the solution it is the problem. Tell that to the people who endured Katrina. "

That is exactly what I would tell the people who endured Katrina. The majority of their local police left, the State government had their national guard in Iraq, the Federal government came late, and had Blackwater contractors take away residents' means of self defense. Governments, on many levels, were the problem. Are we finally agreeing on something?<<

Boy talk about revisionist history.

Bush didn't even know about Katrina for two days and then he just flew over it. They had to video tape it for him. Bush had left instructions to not be distrubed as he was on vacation. He spent 1/3 of his presidency on vacation.

And his man "Brownies'" experience, was as an administraor of racing horses.

I was our state's Director of Emergency Medical Services and wrote that state plan, so I have some experience with these things.

Certainly more than Brownie-lol.

The whole plan of the neo cons was to replace government with private industry. New Orleans is still a mess because there was no good government plan or response in place.

And the private sector ripped off the tax payers for billions in Katrina.

Hurricane Gustave was almost all government response and went much more smoothly.

I have coordinated disasters, and government works much better as the overseer with much more fiscal responsibility than contracting out to private industry as the overseer.

Because good governments develop plans.

Bush and the neo cons hate goveernment (gets in the way of their pillaging the economy like AIG, Countrywide, Halliburton and Goldman Saks did-lol), so they had no desire or interest in seeing government succeed
