Greg:
Thanks for your response. Your wife is right. Treat her with meticulous tenderness, for you need her to guide you through an unscientific, nonlinear world. The scientific method, as you know, has no intrinsic validity, and is used only because it works so well within extremely narrow corridors of inquiry.

You are wrong in saying that lawyers are incapable of objectivity. What else can I say? I refer you to your wife on this point.

You challenge all to produce evidence that the Soviets achieved a profitable well. NOBODY ever said that. I challenge you to produce evidence that anybody achieved a profitable well in Arabia before one was achieved. Come on, Greg, the problem for an investor is to evaluate the degree of probability, the CHANCES, that profitable wells WILL be produced, based on INFERENCES from EXISTING evidence. (Pardon the caps, but how does one make this point with you?) AND how can you deny that oil companies decide to spend vast sums to explore AND develop properties, based on the same considerations? We are people who invest in AIPN precisely because your stated uncertainties exist, and we want to reap the great rewards that will come if our speculation comes true. Our speculation is made possible by the doubts and fears of more timid people like you(implying nothing pejorative of you). (We try to make our bet as safe as possible, of course.) That is why we do not invest this particular money in companies that only operate producing fields.

"It is very possible that any oil in the area is unretrievable....many possible reasons why a given..matrix may refuse to give up its oil...A geological formation may be completely isolated..." Great! If these possibilities did not exist, the stock would sell for $500 per share, and we would never look at it.

Finally, Greg, if scientific endeavor was based entirely on proven data, there would be no science, and if human endeavor was based entirely on what is predictable, we would have been extinct long ago. The future, thank God, is very hard to predict. If the 20th century foray into socialism has proved anything, it is that attempts to base this journey on an apriori dialectic is a disaster. Your belief that you scientists can engineer the future is false. Freedom to speculate(freedom of individuals to choose the deployment of their own resources) is the name of the game.

I realize the above lecture insults your intelligence, and I promise not to do that again, if you will stop insulting mine. Geneat
