Very unfortunate Leo. I was just having a little light-hearted fun. I am sorry to hear that you have been the target of complaints, since you tend to stay in bounds. Making a generic reference to morons should not be a problem. In this age of PC, perhaps you should have used the term "inteligence challenged". <g>

I for one will miss you on the BORL thread.

BEst to you.

David

Differences of opinions make a market.

I began investing in BORL last year and increased my position by 50% in September. I will continue to hold for the long term.

I have a favorite gold stock that I trade for 10 to 15% gain in a few weeks to a few months. I know this company well and I know the price action. I would not be that sure of BORL to risk the long term for a small profit. That is my own choice.

I will continue to follow this thread but will miss your input. I enjoyed seeing the BORL analysis with the inappropriate model because it gives me insight in to other points of view.

The SI staff are all-too-familiar with the ganging up tactic and if you are targeted in such a manner, such complaints only strengthen your position. Say what you want about the products, services, management, technology and comment as you like on other's opinions regarding those same issues. SI doesn't want this to be the domain of the hand-held, spoon-fed whiners. Provided you aren't simply attacking another participant on a personal level or being obscene, you have nothing to worry about. Look, one of the hallmarks of the complainers is that they are the first to personalize a technical or business issue and they are generally blind to the distinction. It's that inability to differentiate that gets them into trouble. Once they've wound themselves up into a knot and revealed their true motive -- controlling what can be said and by whom -- they generally give up and crawl back under the rock from whence they came.

Leo,

Sorry to hear you are leaving. I have learned a lot from your posts.

It seems the atmosphere on this thread can be really picky; postings constantly working on your nerves, hitting you whenever possible. That is not a good thing, and I feel sad it caused you to quit around here.

So long and don't forget your '3rd' life!

RE: Farewell Party for Leo.

Leo,

While I haven't agreed with some of your posts, I respect your opinion and have learned (and questioned my own opinions) from some of your messages. You bring up some good points, and your bearish perspective will be missed.

Don't take the messages here personally. When people disagree, it's easy to digress to personal attacks. Although you've been the recipient of many of those attacks, sometimes you've been on the other end as well. I think you'd do well here if you make a conscience attempt to stay out of the personal attacks. I know it's not easy. (I'm a bear over on the SYQT thread.)

I hope that you reconsider, but in any case I wish you luck with your investments!
