<if the US goes down> The US is going down. The only issue is whether it goes down after shipping trillions of dollars to those who ponied up money at the derivatives crap tables. This is not about mortgages -- it not about 'banking'. It is about the casino down the street from the banks, where idiot CEOs and their minions sought to make a gazillion dollars at the crap tables instead of doing all that boring old banking stuff. Now it is time to tell them the truth: They are grossly overpaid irresponsible idiots who don't deserve a dime and most certainly should not be 'retained'. Nor should their shareholders. They should be, plain and simple, wiped out completely. That would do far less harm to the US economy than printing trillions of dollars to pay off their gambling debts.
