In a one year period ending several months ago, I made about 2,000 trades with Ceres (now Ameritrade). I would say that at least 20% of the trades had poor results because of the many problems that cropped up. (Long market executions, forever confirmations, and typical net and site problems.) I have not yet sent in my application for Datek, but if I they can give me half the problems of Ceres, my money losses will be much lower. All on line brokers have problems. If you are an active trader, the trick is to find the one that gives the least amount of bad experiences. Datek is setup for the active trader, and I bet that these people are the ones that are most satisfied with the overall service when compared to other on line brokers.
