Miklosh,
I don't want to answer for John and by no means am an expert on this but there are several companies which currently have VR software. IBM has its own versions, although I have not heard or read too much about theirs. I believe the current leader is Dragon Systems- I believe theirs is called Simply Voice?? not sure though. I have seen this one in action and it is pretty impressive. Running on a Pentium 200 w/ 64MB RAM it was still sluggish though. But in terms of accuracy, it has the ability to learn a new word, such as someone's last name, instantaeously. In addition, for all intents and purposes, it is real time; no pause between words. I believe they are a privately held company in MA?? and would not be surprised if MSFT bought them out in the near future. The other name that comes to mind is Kurzweil. I haven't heard too much of their products either though. They are a publicly traded company which has recently undergone some scandal. The CEO?? or someone at the top was warehousing software and putting it on the books as being sold. I'd stay away from this one. Just my .02
